Call for Trustees

Music for Change is an arts organisation and charity that uses music as a catalyst for social change and to improve people’s well-being. We are seeking new Trustees to join our existing Board.

Based in Canterbury but working all over the UK, Music for Change is a charitable company run by a voluntary board of trustees. As a trustee, you will help shape the direction of the charity and have the legal responsibility for ensuring the company fulfils its objectives and legal obligations, whilst ensuring policy is up-to-date. The board of trustees meets four times a year but the commitment and time required is more.

We are looking for people who are passionate about our work and our ethos and who will bring their skills, expertise and experience that complement those of the of the current board. We are particularly keen to hear from those with experience in fundraising; those with excellent knowledge of the charity and voluntary sector; those with excellent knowledge of the education sector; and we also seek a Treasurer.

Background Information

Music for Change is an educational arts organisation and charity that promotes awareness, understanding and respect for cultural diversity through music and the performing arts. We give people opportunities to access high quality music making activity and performances. Our work is as necessary today as it was when the organisation started in 1997 for two very good reasons: firstly, our work encourages understanding and empathy in a world that remains divided by borders and racial prejudice. Secondly, our work is good for people and their well-being; it is fun, develops people’s confidence and helps build a sense of community whilst enabling people to access high-quality musical activity.

Please email Music for Change’s Manager, Rosie Escott at rosie@musicforchange.org  to express your interest, highlighting your relevant skills and experience. Please also attach your CV.
