Mini Music Makers and Little Music Makers

Funded by Grants for the Arts and Youth Music, we delivered a programme of music workshops across Kent from January - December 2012. Working in 32 pre-schools and 16 Children's Centres, we delivered over 360 hours of music for around 1500 children ages 0-5. Children have been able to experience instruments such as mini steel pan drums, guitars, ukeleles, recorders, melodeons, djembe drums and concertinas. Music for Change's experienced Early Years facilitators Livia Sevier, Lizzy D'Anna, Alexander D. Great, George Fiawoo, Michael Wheeler and Ruth Cronk facilitated the workshops.

Canterbury Christ Church University's Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health are partnering us on the project through researching the benefits of the music workshops on children's well-being and development during their Early Years.

We are grateful to our funders, Youth Music and Grants for the Arts, for their support on our Early Years work.
